Salt Lake Community College introduces Beyond the Podium, a groundbreaking partnership with US Speedskating, US Ski & Snowboard, and USA Climbing. 

Beyond the Podium provides free tuition and flexible schedules, ensuring elite athletes don’t have to choose between education and competition. The program also addresses the critical need to support athletes as they transition to life after their sporting careers by providing not just educational opportunities but also career counseling and internships with corporate partners.  

Made possible by a generous gift from Jeff and Helen Cardon, Beyond the Podium provides a crucial post-competition career pathway for athletes whose identities are often deeply tied to their sport. Already supporting over 19 athletes, many of whom are aiming for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, this collaboration reflects SLCC's core mission of providing access and opportunity to all.
