12th Biannual Utah Crime, Justice, and Equity Student Conference

The 12th Biannual Utah Crime, Justice, and Equity Student Conference hosted at SLCC exemplifies the Department of Criminal Justice’s commitment to fostering a culture of scholarship and community involvement. Chaired by Antonette Gray, David Robles, Stephanie Hoffman, and Anthony J. Nocella II, this year's conference, hosted on Saturday, May 2, drew an impressive attendance of over 150 participants, including family and friends of the student presenters.

Hosted at the Miller Campus, the conference offered a platform for students from various institutions, including Utah State University, the University of Utah, and others, to engage in meaningful discourse on critical social issues. The day was filled with insightful presentations, allowing students to present their scholarly work to an engaged audience.

Each presenter received certificates recognizing their hard work and dedication, with additional awards for students actively involved in community engagement and other significant academic achievements. In addition to accolades and recognition, the event presented participants with networking opportunities from professors and peers interested in the field.

Events like this offer students a unique opportunity to share their research in an open forum, aimed at deepening their knowledge and skills in the subject, while helping them make connections to begin their professional careers.
