Financial Aid Eligible Programs

Not all programs of study are eligible for financial aid funding. Salt Lake Community College offers a variety of degrees and certificates. For more information on which programs of study are eligible for financial aid and which are not, click on the links below.

ASSOCIATE DEGREES

All associate degree programs are eligible for financial aid – except for apprenticeships.

  • Associate of Arts degree (AA)
  • Associate of Science degree (AS)
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS)*
  • Associate of Pre-Engineering (APE)
  • Associate of Pre-Science (APS)

*Some AAS degrees are apprenticeships.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

Some certificate programs are eligible for financial aid, some are not. At this time, only the following certificate programs have been approved for financial aid.

      • Graphic Communications
      • Accounting
      • Automotive Collision Repair
      • Automotive Refinishing
      • Cabinet Making and Furniture Construction
      • Motorcycle and Outdoor Power Equipment Technology
      • Non-Destructive Testing – Eddy Current
      • Non-Destructive Testing – Radiography
      • Non-Destructive Testing – Ultrasonics
      • Sustainable Building Construction
  • SL Tech Certificate Programs
    • Certificates of Completion (CC)
      • Air Conditioning/Heating/Refrigeration
      • Medical Assistant
      • Medical Coding & Billing
      • Welding Technology
    • Certificate of Proficiency (CP)
      • Automotive Undercar Specialist
      • Diesel Systems Technician
      • Information Technology
      • Pharmacy Technician
      • Web Programmer
  • Certificate of Achievement (CA):
    • No Certificate of Achievement programs are eligible for financial aid

The following programs are NOT eligible for financial aid. Classes taken in these programs are not eligible for financial aid, even if the student is in an eligible program. In addition, tuition waivers are not available for these programs:

  • Apprenticeship Programs (AAS or CP)
  • Certificate of Achievement (CA)
  • Developmental Education
  • English as a Second Language
  • Fully Online Career Training (ed2go)
  • Genealogy
  • Workforce Training & Education

SLCC and SL Tech offer associate degrees and certificates in the following pathways:

  • Arts, Communication, and Digital Media
  • Business
  • Computer Science and Information Technology
  • Health Sciences
  • Humanities
  • Construction, Manufacturing, and Applied Technologies
  • Science, Engineering, and Mathematics
  • Social & Behavioral Sciences, Education and Human Services
