The anniversary of SLCC’s Partnership for Accessing College Education (PACE) is over but we are just getting started. Join us as we continue to grow PACE, a high school completion and college readiness program that began in one public high school with seven students and opened its fifth location in Fall 2021. We hope to expand to more locations while sustaining the guarantee of a full scholarship to SLCC for PACE high school graduates.
Will you help make that dream a reality?
What Is PACE?
PACE is SLCC’s Utah-focused college-readiness program that empowers and supports underserved youth, providing a track from high school into college. Our program increases high school graduation rates and college participation rates for low-income and first-generation high school students in our community.
Our program supports students by:
- helping them develop strong study and time management skills,
- assisting them in exploring potential career choices,
- mentoring them on how to ask for help and overcome obstacles.
Successful PACE graduates are rewarded with a full two-year scholarship to SLCC.
Support the Future of Utah
Utah’s future leaders and innovators are sitting in a classroom right now. By investing in their success today, we are ensuring they will pursue a college education and contribute to the health and heart of our state going forward.
PACE scholars inspire us with their deep commitment to themselves and their futures. Collectively they help ensure Utah’s continued economic vitality.
Join us in honoring their achievements by contributing to PACE scholarships and program expansion. Every gift counts!
PACE Scholarships
Each PACE graduate receives a six-semester full tuition and fees scholarship to SLCC (currently worth approximately $12,300). SLCC tuition and fees are the second lowest in the Utah System of Higher Education’s member institutions, at only approximately $4,100 per student annually. Scholarships for our graduates set our program apart and provide a pathway to higher education.
PACE Program Expansion
Since 2011, PACE has expanded from one high school to opening a fifth location in 2021. We continue to receive requests to bring this innovative program into more local public schools. Each site location expansion requires additional support staff and related start-up costs. These funds will allow us to serve more students across Salt Lake County.
