When do my scores expire?
Your English scores will never expire and can be used at any time to register for eligible courses.
Is retesting allowed?
Yes. If you have tested previously and want to retest, please be aware that after the first time taking the test, retakes are limited to 1 retake per semester, with the following wait time:
- You are required to wait 24 hours between attempts for the English test.
***Retakes are subject to a non-refundable $15.00 retest fee that will be collected at the time a retake appointment is scheduled. Taking a test before the appropriate waiting period has passed, will result in the test scores being disqualified and the $15.00 retest fee will be forfeited. What English course should I register for?
Once you have completed your placement you are given a recommended course. Please visit the SLCC English/ESL Pathway page and watch the videos to learn more about the course you placed into.

Can I enroll in English 2010 or 2100 with my score?
No, the highest course eligible to enroll in is ENGL 1010. If you received a recommendation to take the CLEP test please explore your options at the CLEP page.
