Notable Foundation Scholarships

The Herriman Scholarship was established to help students connected to the Herriman, Bluffdale, and Riverton communities attend SLCC's Herriman Campus. The scholarship is available to eligible undergraduate and SLTech students.

The scholarship is generally available for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Eligibility is reviewed each semester before and after the semester drop date. Students must continue to meet all eligibility requirements. If a student no longer meets the criteria, the scholarship will be canceled for that semester.

• Be a current SLCC or SLTech student.
• Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
• Take at least one course at the Herriman Campus.
• Currently reside in the Herriman, Bluffdale, or Riverton area (ZIP codes 84065, 84095, or 84096), or have graduated from a high school located in one of these communities.
• Maintain a 2.0 cumulative SLCC GPA.

What does the Herriman Scholarship cover?

The Herriman Scholarship covers eligible resident tuition and basic student fees for students enrolled in 6 to 18 credit hours. The scholarship is non-refundable, meaning it cannot result in a refund to the student. Award amounts may be reduced based on enrollment and eligible tuition and basic fee charges. Students should always refer to their scholarship Acceptance Criteria for the most up-to-date information about their award and what expenses are covered.

Log in to ScholarshipUniverse using your MySLCC credentials and search for "Herriman."

Students only need to apply once per academic year. However, eligibility is reviewed each semester, and students must continue to meet all requirements to receive scholarship funding for that semester.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from Horizonte Instruction & Training Center within the last 5 years.
• Must apply for the scholarship through ScholarshipUniverse.
• Must complete intake interview with an administrator from the Horizonte School (Kimball Young, kimball.young@gmail.com)

The scholarship renews every semester to graduation as long as the awardee maintains a 2.0+ GPA and takes a minimum of six credits per semester.

Application Instructions

1. Log into ScholarshipUniverse with your MySLCC username and password
2. Fill out and submit your application through ScholarshipUniverse
3. If approved for the Horizonte Scholarship, you will receive more instructions through your Bruinmail
4. Schedule an appointment with a Horizonte School administrator (contact kimball.young@gmail.com for more information)

Select Health also invests in the community through education and workforce development. The Select Health Scholarship is a one-year full scholarship for freshman students with demonstrated financial need at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) who are interested in a career in healthcare or healthcare administration. In addition to paying for an awardee’s education, SelectHealth invests in each student’s personal and professional growth. Students who earn this scholarship will have the opportunity to participate in important professional development activities throughout the year, and visit Select Health facilities to learn about the various aspects of healthcare and health administration.

• SelectHealth will award six scholarships each year
• The SelectHealth Scholarship award is worth $5,000 per academic year and can be applied to tuition and all fees.
• Awarded students will receive individual professional mentorship from Select Health

• Demonstrate financial need
• Have a 3.0+ GPA
• Be a graduate from a Salt Lake area school district: Jordan, Canyons, Murray, Granite, or Salt Lake City
• Have a goal to graduate with an associate degree within two years
• Demonstrate dedication to improving our community through civic engagement and community service.

• 10 students will be awarded the Ivory Scholars Award each year
• The Ivory Scholars Award is for two years or four semesters
• The Ivory Scholars Award is for $1,000 per semester, which can be used for
  • Tuition and fees
  • Books
  • Supplies
  • Other educational expenses
• Awarded students must attend a mentoring event with Ivory Homes once a year and are encouraged to attend Ivory Homes events for students throughout the year.
• Awarded students must enroll in 12+ credits each semester they receive the Ivory Scholars Award.

Students who succeed in earning their Associates Degree within the two years will have the opportunity to apply for a completion scholarship of $4,000, also funded by the Clark and Christine Ivory Foundation.

To qualify for the Ivory Scholars Program, students must:

• Enroll in SLCC’s Construction Management Program (AS) or Construction Management & Sustainable Building Program (AAS).
• Have a goal to graduate with an associate degree within two years.
• Have and maintain a 2.5+ GPA
• Agree to attend one mentoring session with Ivory Homes a year.

• Submit a letter of recommendation.
• Apply for the Ivory Scholars Program after you complete the general application.
