Horizonte Scholarship
The Horizonte Scholarship is for recent grads of Horizonte Instruction & Training Center. This scholarship is offered at both Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) and Salt Lake Technical College (SLTC).
Qualifications
- Must have graduated from Horizonte Instruction & Training Center within the last 5 years.
- Must apply for the scholarship through ScholarshipUniverse.
- Must complete intake interview with an administrator from the Horizonte School (Kimball Young, kimball.young@gmail.com)
Application Deadlines
The scholarship renews every semester to graduation as long as the awardee maintains a 2.0+ GPA and takes a minimum of six credits per semester.

Application Instructions
- Log into ScholarshipUniverse with your MySLCC username and password
- Fill out and submit your application through ScholarshipUniverse
- If approved for the Horizonte Scholarship, you will receive more instructions through your Bruinmail
- Schedule an appointment with a Horizonte School administrator (contact kimball.young@gmail.com for more information)

Select Health also invests in the community through education. The Select Health Scholarship is a two-year full scholarship for freshman students with demonstrated financial need at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) who are interested in a career in healthcare. In addition to paying for an awardee’s education, SelectHealth invests in each student’s personal and professional growth. Students who earn this scholarship will have the opportunity to participate in important mentoring activities throughout the year, and visit Select Health and Intermountain Health facilities to learn about the various aspects of healthcare and health administration.
- SelectHealth will award six two-year scholarships each year
- The SelectHealth Scholarship award is $2,500 per semester, which can be used for

- Books
- Supplies
- Other educational expenses
- Awarded students will receive individual professional mentorship from Select Health
- Demonstrate financial need
- Have a 3.0+ GPA
- Be a graduate from a Salt Lake area school district: Jordan, Canyons, Murray, Granite, or Salt Lake City
- Have a goal to graduate with an associate degree within two years
- Demonstrate dedication to improving our community through civic engagement and community service.

Ivory Scholars Program
The Clark and Christine Ivory Foundation focuses their philanthropy on assisting – at the most fundamental level – the individual. Their goal is to directly amplify an individual’s capacity to advance economically through education, affordable housing, sustainable communities and by providing support for the underserved.
Educating the next generation is a key component of the Clark and Christine Ivory Foundation, which is why they established the Ivory Scholars Program at SLCC. The goal of this program is to support students as they earn a degree in SLCC’s Construction Management Program (AS) or Construction Management & Sustainable Building Program (AAS).
- 10 students will be awarded the Ivory Scholars Award each year
- The Ivory Scholars Award is for two years or four semesters
- The Ivory Scholars Award is for $1,000 per semester, which can be used for
- Tuition and fees
- Books
- Supplies
- Other educational expenses
- Awarded students must attend a mentoring event with Ivory Homes once a year and are encouraged to attend Ivory Homes events for students throughout the year.
- Awarded students must enroll in 12+ credits each semester they receive the Ivory Scholars Award.
Students who succeed in earning their Associates Degree within the two years will have the opportunity to apply for a completion scholarship of $4,000, also funded by the Clark and Christine Ivory Foundation.
To qualify for the Ivory Scholars Program, students must:
- Enroll in SLCC’s Construction Management Program (AS) or Construction Management & Sustainable Building Program (AAS).
- Have a goal to graduate with an associate degree within two years.
- Have and maintain a 2.5+ GPA
- Agree to attend one mentoring session with Ivory Homes a year.
- Visit the SLCC Scholarship Application Website
- Fill out the general scholarship application
- Submit a letter of recommendation.
- Apply for the Ivory Scholars Program after you complete the general application.
