FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 prohibits Salt Lake Community College from releasing certain personally identifiable information from a student's record to a third party (e.g. parent, spouse, etc.) without the student's explicit consent.
If a student is attending a postsecondary institution - at any age - the rights under FERPA have transferred to the student. Click here for more information about FERPA.
