NEW TEACHER TRAINING
When a new concurrent enrollment instructor begins teaching for SLCC, that teacher is required to complete the online New CE Instructor Training available through SLCC Canvas, and course content training coordinated through the SLCC academic department. New teachers are required to complete both of these trainings so that they are prepared to teach the SLCC curriculum according to the SLCC academic department standard, and deliver a college experience in their classroom. Instructors are paid $25/hour for attending or viewing these trainings. You should receive an email with instructions on how to complete these trainings, if you have misplaced that email or didn't receive it reach out to your college experience liaison.
other designated mandatory training
Concurrent enrollment instructors are also required to attend any trainings that are designated as "mandatory" by the SLCC academic department over the courses you are approved to teach. These are typically trainings that go over curricular changes, updates to department policies, and other things that are necessary for you to be able to teach the SLCC curriculum according to the SLCC standard. If you have a schedule conflict and are unable to attend you must reach out to the academic department representative to identify a time when you can make up that training.
