At Salt Lake Community College, our vision is to strengthen the communities we serve through the success of our students. Taking part in elections is a civic duty that can be powerful for enacting change in local, state, and national issues. We encourage all students to be involved in the voting process and engage with this fundamental pillar of our democracy. Click on the Events tab to learn more about the Voter Engagement Events happening on campus!
Did You Know? In 2020, 18,634 SLCC students were eligible to vote. 12,350 students registered to vote, but only 8,895 students cast their vote in the election. Be the change this election, by registering to vote and making a voting plan!
The state of Utah requires you have a valid Utah driver license or valid Utah ID to register to vote online. Click Here to Register to Vote Online
If you do not have an Utah ID, you can register to vote by mail. Instead of writing in your Utah ID, you will write in the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you are registering to vote for the first time and are mailing in your registration, Federal law requires you to show proof of identification the first time you vote. Proof of identification includes: Valid photo identification or A current bill/paycheck that shows your name and address.
Stop by the Thayne Center to pick up a Voter Registration Form. If you need access to stamps & envelopes to mail in your form we can assist you. We are here to help make the voting process accessible to everyone.
