ASL/English Interpreting Program
The Salt Lake Community College ASL/English Interpreting program offers an Associate’s of Applied Science (AAS) degree, which is based on course work and internships in ASL/English Interpreting. We emphasize workforce training to prepare you for career opportunities upon graduation from the program as well as a lifetime of enrichment through learning and growing.
To work as an interpreter after successful completion of the program, you must apply for and pass the Utah State Interpreter Certification exam and/or National Interpreter Certification. You will also be prepared to test for the Utah Professional Certification, National Interpreter Certification, or the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment.
Career opportunities are available in a variety of settings and fields, including education, social services, religion, government, business, performing arts, mental health, medical and legal settings, and more.
There is an additional application process for the ASL/English Interpreting program.
