This workshop teaches interpersonal conflict resolution skills through a series of step-by-step processes.
Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) was the first educational program in the U.S. co-facilitated by those inside and outside of prison, which started in the 1970s, emerging out of the prison riots. It was also one of the first organizations dedicated to promoting the goal of the Beloved Community founded by Dr. Martin L. King Jr. AVP brings together diverse groups of people to build Dr. King’s nonviolent “beloved community”.
