Then and Now
Born and raised in Hawaii, I relocated to Salt Lake City to finish my final year of high school and head off to college. Facing the need to finance my education while working full-time, I found Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) to be an ideal starting point.
Coming from a small town in Hawaii, the transition to a larger environment was significant, yet the smaller class sizes at SLCC made the college experience approachable and welcoming. It was at SLCC where I truly felt a sense of belonging. A memorable moment for me was meeting a fellow student from Japan, underscoring the unique and diverse connections one can make at a community college.
"Investing in yourself through education is invaluable, as the long-term benefits far exceed the initial effort and resources."
I completed my coursework at SLCC and transferred to the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, where I earned my degree in Marketing. My academic journey continued with a Master of Liberal Arts in General Management from Harvard University.
Currently, I serve as the Chief Marketing Officer for the Buckner Company, an insurance brokerage firm headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.
