State Sponsored Grants and Scholarships
Salt Lake Community College has received funding from the State of Utah to support Utah residents financially as they pursue their educational goals. Descriptions of these funds, their purpose, and applications are outlined below. Questions about the application process should be directed to the Scholarship team at the Financial Aid Office on the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, or they may be emailed to scholarships@slcc.edu.
Technical Education Scholarship
The Technical Education Scholarship provides financial assistance to Utahns pursuing a technical education certificate in high demand industries. This scholarship is available to recent high school graduates and adults enrolled in a high demand program at Salt Lake Technical College (SLTC). This state-sponsored scholarship program will cover tuition and fees for approved programs, provided you are making acceptable academic progress. We recommend students complete the 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the upcoming academic year as well.

SLTech Scholarship
The SLTech Scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing a technical education certificate in high demand industries at Salt Lake Technical College (SLTech). This state-sponsored scholarship program covers tuition and fees for approved programs. To be eligible for this opportunity, students must apply and gain acceptance to Salt Lake Community College. Additionally, current SLTech students may also apply, provided they maintain acceptable academic progress in their respective programs. It's important to note that all applicants must have legal eligibility to work in the U.S. upon successful completion of their SLTech program.

Talent Development Award
The Talent Development Award Program is intended to recruit and train Utahns for high demand, high wage jobs. This state-sponsored grant program will cover tuition and fees for students in the Computer Sciences and Information Systems program at Salt Lake Community College. Students must complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA to be eligible for the upcoming academic year.

Adult Learner Grant
The Adult Learner Grant Program is intended to provide financial assistance for adult learners (defined as 26 years of age or older) pursuing an online degree at Salt Lake Community College. This state-sponsored grant program will cover tuition and fees for Utahns in the Online Business program. Students must complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA and be Pell Grant eligible to qualify for the upcoming academic year.

Public Safety Officer Career Advancement
The Public Safety Officer Career Advancement Grant (PSOCAG) Program is a state-funded tuition grant program for certified peace officers currently employed by a Utah law enforcement agency and seeking a post-secondary degree in a criminal justice related program at Salt Lake Community College. This program will cover a portion of tuition and fees in the Criminal Justice program. Students must complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA to qualify for the upcoming academic year.
In addition to being a requirement for PSOCAG, the FAFSA allows students to access additional federal, institutional, and state funding to finance your education.
Salt Lake Community College receives a limited amount of funding for the PSOCAG Program. Award amounts are subject to funding available from the State of Utah and may be reduced in future years.
