Chapter Responsibilities
Responsibilities
-
Each chapter must send at least one representative (preferably a school level officer team accompanied by at least one advisor) to the Utah Leadership Training Institute (ULTI).
-
Each chapter (school) must conduct an opening social or activity.
-
Each chapter must submit memberships and pay dues to the national office.
-
Each chapter (school) must complete at least one service project or activity before the first day of March.
-
Each chapter must have at least ONE person participate in the Professional Development Contest, or your chapter cannot participate in the State Competition. Each chapter (school) must hold at least one chapter meeting each quarter, (monthly preferred) and submit the agenda and minutes of these meetings to the state director.
-
Each chapter must submit their national and state membership registration for all of their professional and student members before the February 15, 2013 Utah deadline.
-
It is strongly recommended that chapters complete the membership registration for all eligible/interested students as opposed to registering only those students that intend to compete at the state championships. All schools would benefit from a pool of alternate contestants and the availability of delegates to manage the affairs of this student organization.
-
Every registered student member must complete the electronic resume on their state website account. These resumes will be part of the SkillsUSA Utah Championships judging in every contest this year!
-
Every student contestant for the SkillsUSA Championships must complete the on-line SkillsUSA Knowledge Test during the designated test period for their school. Testing schedule details will be provided in the near future, after a proctor is identified and registered from each school.
-
If possible, we need you to work with the industry/technical committee people to acquire some industry prizes to be awarded to the medalists on Friday evening.
Advisor Responsibilities:
-
Each advisor must create an account on the Utah SkillsUSA Website.
-
Each advisor must advise their student(s), to also create an account on the Utah SkillsUSA website.
( If you do not know your username and/or password, email SkillsUSA customer support ). -
Advisors sponsoring a contest in their area must provide judges for the state competition. There is no problem with your "sponsoring" a contest when you will have students competing in the contest, as long as you have people from industry or your advisory committee do the actual judging during the contest.
-
Each advisor must submit their student names to Judy Calder for the National Registration. The School of Applied Technology "Education Team Chairperson" should be CC'd in this email.
