Medical interpreters serve a critical role in the community by interpreting communication between the staff and non-English speaking population and helping to ensure a quality medical experience for patients and loved ones. Choose from three programs that are taught for learners with English bilingual proficiency. Successful completion of this course allows students to apply for Tier 2 Medical Interpreter certification with the Utah Department of Commerce’s Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL).
The Medical Interpreter program is eligible for STIT funding to cover 50% of tuition. Utah residency is required. To see if you qualify for STIT Funding and to complete the application:
