Robert Glennon is the go-to resource for any group that wants to understand why protecting our water supply is as much an economic issue as an environmental one.
With his deep grasp of the scientific, historical, economic, and legal issues associated with America's water predicament, Robert gives audiences a comprehensive understanding of why a water shortage is imminent and what it will take to save the country's dwindling supply.
Robert expertly captured the tragedy and irony of the water crisis in his New York Times best-selling book Unquenchable and the highly-acclaimed Water Follies: Groundwater Pumping and the Fate of America's Fresh Waters.
On stage, he offers the same honest and urgent appraisal of the country's challenges, while stressing the importance of technology and innovative thinking to solving the problem. With detailed, actionable suggestions, he lays out an attainable vision for a sustainable water future.
Robert's gift for telling the broader story about water quenches the longing among audience members to identify their role in contributing to this growing cause of concern.

Souza did more than document an American president, he invited America into the home of an intelligent, compassionate, graceful and complex man. For eight years, Americans were part of the Obama family.

His photographers situate viewers inside Obama’s daily life; we feel the tension in the situation room, we laugh as Obama plays tricks on his staff and cry when the president bends down to let an African American boy touch his hair.

Social Ethics of Caste and Hierarchy:
Isabel Wilkerson
Thursday, November 4, 2021
7-8 P.M.
Video Livestream Format
Isabel Wilkerson, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Humanities Medal, is the author of The New York Times bestsellers The Warmth of Other Suns and Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, a passionately researched examination of the unspoken caste system that shaped America and still defines our lives today. Wilkerson captivates audiences with the universal human story of migration and reinvention, the enduring search for the American dream, and the unseen hierarchies that have divided us as a nation, because story is how we find a way to transcend them. She has become an impassioned voice for harnessing history to help us understand ourselves, our country and our current era of upheaval. In her lectures, she explores with authority the need to reconcile America’s karmic racial inheritance—a notion she expresses in her widely-shared op-ed essays in The New York Times. She draws a direct link between the leaderless revolution known as the Great Migration and the protest movements for social justice today, each one a response to this unacknowledged and unaddressed history.
Wilkerson won the Pulitzer Prize for her work as Chicago Bureau Chief of The New York Times in 1994, making her the first Black woman in the history of American journalism to win a Pulitzer Prize and the first African-American to win for individual reporting in the history of American journalism.
Wilkerson has lectured on narrative nonfiction at the Nieman Foundation at Harvard University and has taught at Princeton, Emory and Boston universities. She has lectured at more than 200 other colleges and universities across the United States, Europe and in Asia. Her work has garnered seven honorary degrees, most recently from Bates College and Southern Methodist University. She has appeared on national programs such as CBS’ 60 Minutes, NPR’s Fresh Air, NBC’s Nightly News, MSNBC, CNN, C-SPAN, and others. Caste, published in August of 2020 is currently being adapted into a Netflix film directed, written and produced by Ava DuVernay.

Dr. Talithia Williams is a groundbreaking professor, popular TED speaker, inspiring author, passionate STEM/STEAM advocate and host of the PBS series, NOVA Wonders. Dr. Williams’ work with NOVA has been praised by The Los Angeles Times for sending the message “that scientists come in a range of ages, genders, colors and hairstyles.” As the Associate Dean for Research and Experiential Learning and Associate Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College, Dr. Williams focuses on STEM outreach and develops statistical models that emphasize the spatial and temporal structure of data and applies them to real-world problems. She is the first African-American woman to achieve tenure at the college. Her popular TED Talk, “Own Your Body’s Data,” advocates for us to deploy data as a way to take charge of our own health. Applying the data-driven approach made famous in her TED talk to a range of subjects, she takes sophisticated numerical concepts and makes them understandable to a wide audience, debunking perceptions with an energizing call to “show me the data!”
Dr. Williams believes scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians will play a vital role in transforming our future, and her life’s work is to get people of all ages and backgrounds excited about the bold possibilities of a STEM education and to “STEMpower” women and minorities to enter these professions. Her latest book, Power in Numbers: The Rebel Women of Mathematics reflects Williams’ passion to re-brand the field of mathematics as anything but dry, technical or male-dominated.
