2020 SLCC STUDENT ART SHOWCASE
Every spring semester for more than 35 years, the Visual Art & Design faculty organizes the Art Showcase to display the talent of their students. This show has grown into a prestigious exhibit, with numerous submission categories. This year a total of thirty awards were given
Traditionally the art show has been displayed at the South City Campus Multipurpose Room. Due to this year's unusual circumstances, the Showcase moved to a virtual gallery.
The six independent judges for the Showcase were invited from the working artist community and represented a wide range of art disciplines. Additionally, the President and the Dean of School of Arts, Communication & Media chose their award-winning pieces as well.
A short list of award winners includes: Erica Thurston (President's Award), Ethan Hanna (Dean's Award), Paola Acanzo (Judges Choice Award) and Rebecca Stephens (INK Group Award). There were 24 Award of Excellence prizes this year.
