Academic Warning (P1)
Students whose Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) falls below 2.0 will be placed on academic warning. A notice will be sent to students whose CGPA has fallen below 2.0, explaining that they are being placed on academic warning and the process they should complete to find resources for returning to Good Academic Standing.
If a student is placed on academic warning, the following actions should be completed to connect them to relevant SLCC resources:
- Complete the P1 Academic Warning Student Support Survey
- Make an appointment with their primary academic advisor. Advisors are assigned by your current program of study. Students can make an appointment online by signing into MySLCC, visiting the "Advising" tab and logging into MySuccess. A student’s primary advisor will be listed under “Your Connections.” Students can also call the Academic Advising office at 801-957-4978 for assistance identifying their advisor and making an appointment.
Academic Advisors will help set goals, make academic plans leading to graduation, and make referrals to other departments. If a student is receiving financial aid, their advisor can also assist with appeals related to the Satisfactory Academic Progress you need to be eligible to receive federal aid.
