About Us

Founded in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa has over 3.5 million members and operates in more than 1,300 chapters worldwide. Our mission is to provide a platform for academic achievement and personal growth.

Membership Requirements

To be eligible for Phi Theta Kappa, you must:

  • Be enrolled as a student at Salt Lake Community College
  • Have completed at least 12 credit hours of coursework
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher

How to Join

Membership is extended through invitation from the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Salt Lake Community College. Invitations are sent during Fall and Spring semesters to students with 12 or more credit hours of college work at Salt Lake Community College and a 3.5 (or higher cumulative GPA for courses taken at Salt Lake Community College. The $95 one-time fee is for a lifetime membership.
