You will be required to attend two different types of events. One event will be a Bruin Scholars event that you will be invited to by your peer mentors. Your second event can be anything happening on campus such as a club meeting or event, lecture, workshop, or SLCC athletics game. We encourage you to get involved!

Schedule time to meet with your Bruin Scholar Coordinator to discuss what your goal for the semester is. You’ll then create a Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely (SMART) goal.
Schedule a time to meet with your Bruin Scholar Coordinator to discuss how your semester is going and how you are doing on your semester goal.
That’s ok. You will work with your Bruin Scholar Coordinator to create a plan to ensure you can start taking math or English as soon as possible.
That’s great! You can participate at whichever campus you attend.

The Summer Bridge is a program designed to help students that recently graduated high school transition into SLCC. The program is completed in 8 weeks after the 8 weeks, students will join the Bruin Scholars program. The Bruin Scholars program is designed to assist students during their whole college experience by connecting students to resources, providing educational and social events, and dedicated attention from a Bruin Scholars coordinator.
