Hi, I'm Glory Johnson-Stanton, many students warmly refer to me as Ms. Glory. I'm originally from Picayune, Mississippi , which is a small Southern city on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and 25 miles northeast of New Orleans.
It's a very beautiful area with huge Mississippi Magnolia trees, green grass, lovely flowers, trees everywhere, beaches, delicious fresh seafood, and great food in general! Southern hospitality is the BEST!
I attended college and received my Bachelor of Science degree at Mississippi Valley State University, which is a Historically Black College/University-HBCU in the Mississippi Delta, where I majored in Communications and minored in Music/Voice.
I've been a Licensed Utah Educator for 38 years. I worked as an educator for the Clearfield Job Corps Center, where I was also a Senior Instructor/Supervisor for the GED-ESL-Reading departments. I'm also endorsed in English as a Second Language (ESL). I've been at Salt Lake Community College since 2008 and began my career here as a Multicultural Academic and Career Advisor for 8 years. I became a Multicultural Student Success Coordinator in 2016, and the Manager of Multicultural Student Success Initiatives in 2017. Luis Player-Delgado
SEEA Student Coordinator: Student Success Initiatives
Luis joins the SEEA team after serving students in foster care for the Granite School District’s Y.E.S.S. (Youth Educational Support School) program. He lived in Minnesota and Georgia before moving to Utah in 2021. The Southeast San Diego native worked for TRIO programs in Minnesota at two-year and four-year institutions, as a teacher for High School Upward Bound (HSUB) and an advisor and program director for Student Support Services (SSS). While living in the Greater Atlanta area, he served students identified as low income and first generation in both University and community settings, as well as taught career development and life skills at an area charter school.
Helping students, student athletes and organizations achieve their full potential is his passion. In addition to his work in education, Luis has mentored youth through community organizations as well as his individual mentoring efforts. He also coached baseball at the youth, high school and collegiate levels, and remains active in the sport as an advisor, evaluator and skills development coach. A former stay-at-home father of three, Luis was a group and individual facilitator for a father’s program that served non-custodial fathers between the age of 18-24, and values his present association with the Utah Fathers and Families Coalition, where he serves as member of the board.
Among his personal interests and hobbies are spending time with family, reading, being outdoors (especially going to ballparks), and listening to music on vinyl. While baseball is his main sport, Luis is also a hockey fan, which he attributes to his twenty years living in Minnesota, the “State of Hockey.”
