HAZWOPER
OVERVIEW
OSHA's Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response standard (HAZWOPER) requires that workers be trained to perform their anticipated job duties without endangering themselves or others. To determine the level and type of training your workers need, you must consider the hazards in your community and what capabilities your personnel need to respond to those hazards. OSHA has developed extensive regulations regarding hazardous waste operations to ensure the safety and health of workers at hazardous sites. Hazardous waste is addressed in specific standards for the general and construction industries.
All courses comply with OSHA regulations and are accepted by OSHA as documentation of proper training. Both 24 and 40 Hour certification courses are available. You can also renew your HAZWOPER certification with our 8 hour refresher course.
Salt Lake Community serves as a Host Site for HAZWOPER training with the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health through the University of Utah's Continuing Education Division. The RMCOEH issues certificates upon successful completion of the course.
