HOW TO REGISTER
Advanced Composites cover the skills necessary to fabricate and assemble composite and metal parts for aerospace applications. Students can choose from certificates covering the basic manufacturing strategies for hand-layup of composite aerospace structures. Students who complete one certificate may find work as an assembly, composites, or lay-up technician.
Students will learn a wide range of manufacturing methods including:
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Wet-Layup
- Vacuum Infusion
- Filament Winding
- Roll Wrapping
- Pre-Preg Layups
The program is very lab focused; students can expect to spend about 70% of their class time out in lab building carbon fiber parts. Students will be able to take home all the labs they work through.
The Composites Technician Onboarding program is eligible for Utah Works funding to cover the cost of tuition. Utah residency is required.
