This 38-week Web Design and Development Program equips students with essential skills to explore careers as website developers and creators. The training curriculum includes classes in frontend web coding languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; backend web coding languages like PHP, MySQL; the WordPress content management system (CMS); and UI/UX design principles. This web development bootcamp has both online and in-person certificate options. Students complete a real-world project through a business collaboration internship and a capstone portfolio website synthesizing their learning.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Demonstrate the ability to leverage frontend web development coding to design and construct web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Implement user interface and user experience design techniques to construct responsive websites for optimal viewing across various devices
  • Build dynamic, data-driven websites using foundational back-end coding skills like PHP and MySQL.
  • Create, customize, and manage websites using WordPress one of the premiere web content management systems (CMS).
  • Develop and execute a web development projects, integrating diverse technologies and coding skills to, as part of a Capstone project.
  • Apply practical web development skills in a professional internship environment emulating a full-stack experience, enhancing real-world experience for aspiring website developers and creators.

This Web Design and Development Certificate Program prepares students for entry level careers in web development or further specialized coding training. This program includes basic programming languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL while also introducing industry standard programs like WordPress and Git. Students also gain foundational user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design skills for developing responsive, attractive, and contemporary websites.

HTML and Version Control

This beginner coding course teaches HTML and version control. Learn to develop basic web pages, understand HTML's role in web development, and use Git and GitHub for effective project management. CSS Design Principles

This CSS Design Principles course is perfect for individuals seeking to expand their HTML skills to include CSS design elements. Learn styling techniques, responsive design, and how to implement popular CSS frameworks. Ideal for students looking master CSS and boost their web design career possibilities.

JavaScript Programming Essentials

This JavaScript course compiles knowledge of HTML and CSS to develop skills in event handling, Document Object Model (DOM) Manipulation, and dynamic web design. With this training course students will continue to expand their back-end coding toolset to include JS libraries and frameworks.

PHP and MySQL DevelopmentPHP and MySQL Development

This course introduces the industry standard back-end languages of PHP and MySQL synthesizing the foundations of both front-end and back-end scripting development and introducing LAMP Stack foundations. Students gain hands-on experience in server-side coding and database integration.

WordPress & CMS Fundamentals

This class explores WordPress and other content management systems (CMS). This program focuses on learning tools to create, configure, and customize to professional websites.

UI/UX Design Principles

This course delves into key concepts of UI/UX design. This class connects skills of web development to create user-centric web interfaces and experiences, including wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.

Capstone and Internship

The Capstone and Internship course compiles web development skills into holistic real-world project that can then be utilized in a personal website and portfolio. This provides students with the necessary careers skills of communication, professionalism, and product control preparing students for work in a web design firm or for a degree in web or software development .

Funding is available for funding this course. You can apply to have up to 85% of the program funded.

SWI funding pays up to 85% of training costs. You must complete an SWI application to determine your eligibility.
