Required Modules
Admission requirements and scores are subject to change. Check with your Academic Advisor or the Health Science Admissions Coordinator for the latest exam requirements, required modules and admission score minimums. There are eleven standard modules to the HESI Exam. SLCC Health Science Programs do not require candidates to complete the Chemistry or Physics Modules. Other programs do not require all the six basic modules listed below. There are additional sections that help identify your personality and learning style, however, you will not be scored in these sections, nor will your answers affect your admission status. The HESI Exam includes a total of 275 questions and must be completed in one six-hour exam session. Most Health Science Programs require these modules:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Biology
- Grammar
- Mathematics
- Reading Comprehension
- Vocabulary and General Knowledge
Retake the EXAM
- Check with your Academic Advisor to find out what your program permits you to retake.
- Most programs allow students to retake the exam once to improve their exam scores. Some programs allow more than one retake in a two-year period.
- There is a mandatory two-week waiting period before another attempt is allowed.
- If you retake the exam, your admission score will reflect the highest score achieved on each module.
- If you choose to retake the entire exam or only some of the modules, it is necessary that you pay the entire full cost of the exam again.
- To retake the exam, schedule a new exam in RegisterBlast.
