Curious about a creative career, but not sure how to begin? Whatever your medium—the pen, the brush, the screen or the stage—we are ready help you hone the foundational skills you’ll need to work in a field that fosters your passion and talent, or transfer to a four-year institution.
You’ll study and create in our Center for Arts and Media, which houses 17 arts and communication programs amidst industry-standard equipment and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration.

Options for Every Student

Learn about degree options. Technical certificates are short, comprehensive training programs for quick entry into in-demand jobs. AS and AAS Degrees give you two years of specialized training to enter the workforce immediately after graduating, and AA Degrees prepare you to transfer with junior status to a four-year institution.

Not ready to choose a major? While you explore, start with the classes or certificates that will keep you building toward a degree. The first 5 classes suggested for your Area of Study give you 15 transferable credits and help you discover your interests. Register now!

Apply for graduation, and get ready to celebrate. Did you know SLCC Alumni have access to Career Services for up to one year after graduation? And the transfer center can field continuing questions for Bruins interested in bachelor’s degrees.

Academic Advising

Before the first day of class, you’ll meet with your advisor, career coach and a group of other first-year students to learn about college expectations and registering for the right courses. It all starts at a Bruin Bound Orientation session.
