Healthy Relationships Hub
Gender-Based and Sexual Violence is a serious issue, and can affect students in a number of ways. The Healthy Relationships Hub works to prevent and reduce violence among students at SLCC by engaging students and providing education about the nuances of relationships, harm, and violence. Our work involves outreach, educational campaigns, and interactive workshops.

Get involved / give feedback
SLCC’s Healthy Relationships Hub is a new and growing organization, and we welcome participation, questions, and feedback from students, staff, and faculty at SLCC. We hope to tailor our efforts to the community we serve. Feedback will be taken into consideration as we plan events, workshops, and other campaigns. Questions can guide us to know what type of content to provide more information about in events.
We strive to back our approach in a combination of research and the current needs that we see from student feedback and our experiences. Below are selections of articles that we have used to frame our attitudes and approaches to preventing violence at SLCC.
- Effects of Campus Sexual Assault Prevention Programs on Attitudes and Behaviors Among College Students: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
- "Voices of Campus Sexual Violence Activists: #MeToo and Beyond" by Ana M. Martínez-Alemán & Susan B. Marine (review)
- "Intersections of Identity and Sexual Violence on Campus: Centering Minoritized students' experiences" by Jessica Harris and Cris Linder, chapter 3.
- Unwanted Sex on Campus: The Overlooked Role of Interactional Pressures and Gendered Sexual Scripts
