Zac Curtis

Associate Professor of Theatre - Theatre Performance

Zac Curtis is a director, actor, educator, fight choreographer, and theatre artist based in Salt Lake City. Zac has taught and directed college, high school, youth, and non-profit theatre for more than twenty years. He holds a BA in Theatre Education from Colorado State University, an MA in Theatre Production from Central Washington University, and an MFA in Directing from the University of Idaho. He is a certified instructor of Stage Combat with Dueling Arts International and has trained in Knight Thompson SpeechWork and Fitzmaurice VoiceWork. Zac has directed, produced, and choreographed theatre across the country at venues including The University of Idaho, The University of Wisconsin - Rock County, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Madison Children's Theatre, Utah Opera, Idaho Repertory Theatre, and Pioneer Theatre Company. He is currently an Associate Professor of Theatre at Salt Lake Community College and a Clinical Instructor of Theatre in Stage Combat at The University of Utah.

David Knoell

Assistant Professor of Theatre - Technical Theatre

David Knoell is a theatre artist currently based in Salt Lake City. He has worked professionally as an actor, writer, director, stage manager and technical director. David is a member of Actors' Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers; he is also involved with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 99. Locally David has worked with Pioneer Theatre, Plan-B Theatre, Salt Lake Acting Company, and as Artist Coordinator and an independent producer with the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival. Previously, he has worked on stages in Chicago (The Second City, Stage 773, Chicago Dramatists) and Orlando (Mad Cow Theatre, Orlando Family Stages, Disney World, Universal Studios). David also works with Performing Arts Educators stage managing dance and choir performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and various venues around Europe.
