Workshops and 1x1 appointments are available for students applying for the Gilman Scholarship through the Engaged Learning Office. Follow the link to schedule an appointment. For assistance with the essay portions of the scholarship application we highly recommend students to seek help from the SLCC Student Writing & Reading Center. They are an amazing resource to students and can help you brainstorm ideas, revising and editing essays and more. Online and in-person appointments are available!
Financial Aid Information
If eligible by FAFSA, students can get financial aid to help pay for the program fees. You can set up an appointment with an advisor and get your COA (Cost of Attendance) adjusted to reflect the program costs. This should be done before the day the aid is normally distributed for the semester in which payments are due.
Students also have the option of alternative funding, which is private loans through a third party. This is a credit-based loan, which students must qualify for through a credit score check with the possibility of a co-signer. Students must apply for these loans over three weeks in advance to provide ample time.
