Black History Month

blackhistory.jpg

The Family Reunion: Tradition in Motion explores the roots of the Black family reunion and how it became a powerful space for connection, celebration, and shared history. Family reunions have long brought generations together to reconnect, tell stories, honor traditions, and strengthen community bonds. This event highlights the role of food as a centerpiece of these gatherings and how families connect through music, dance, and shared experiences. From soul food favorites to line dancing and group movement, these traditions create joy, belonging, and lasting memories. The event will also feature an exciting dance tutorial led by LaDonte Lotts, owner of JiggAerobics, as seen on Shark Tank. Students are encouraged to come dressed and ready to move, have fun, and experience the spirit of family and togetherness. Open to all students. Come celebrate, learn, and enjoy family.
