Cultural Programs
Housed within the Thayne Center for Student Life, Leadership and Community Engagement, Cultural Programs brings students together through events that support learning, connection, and community. Our Heritage Month Events highlight the histories, cultures, and contributions of different communities and give all students the opportunity to learn about traditions and experiences that have shaped our society. These events are open to all students and create welcoming spaces to learn, share, and connect with others on campus.
Cultural programming at SLCC helps students explore new ideas, have meaningful conversations, and connect what they learn in class to real life experiences. These events are designed to be educational, engaging, and easy to participate in, helping students build community, grow their understanding of others, and feel more connected to SLCC and their peers.
Students can also bring their own creative ideas to life through the Arts and Cultural Events Grant, also known as ACE. The ACE Grant provides funding, promotion, and support to help student clubs and organizations plan and host arts and cultural events. ACE funding can be used for activities such as theater performances, art exhibits, fashion shows, music and dance events, film screenings, and other creative experiences that add to campus life and learning.
If you are interested in hosting your own artistic or cultural event, there is funding available through the Thayne Center. Check out the Arts & Cultural Events section below.
