Express Advising

We understand that you sometimes have a question that doesn’t require a 45-minute appointment. Express Advising provides just-in-time information to assist students in less than 15 minutes.

Express Advising can help with:

  • General Education course planning (not specific to program/major)
  • Guidance on how to add/drop/withdraw courses within deadlines (completed by student)
  • Connecting to SLCC resources, services, and departments
  • Intro to understanding and accessing DegreeWorks (DW)
  • Using the “what if” function on DW and instructions to change Program/Major on MySLCC
  • Intro to MySuccess and how to make an appointment with your assigned Academic Advisor

In-person EXPRESS Advising Days and Times

Academic Advisors are available for Express Advising at the Taylorsville Redwood campus STC 240 (Student Center), Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Peer Mentors are available at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus during Fall and Spring semesters on the second floor of the Student Center, Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: You will be referred to your Primary Advisor for issues such as:

  • removing holds
  • graduation checks
  • course planning related to Financial Aid
  • specific questions about your program/major
