Hello I am native Utahn. I am working towards my two AS degrees here at SLCC, then will transfer to the U of U for a bachelor's in genetics. I'd love to go on and complete a PhD in field work and research on genetic engineering. The goal is to settle down on a small farm in Colorado some day.

I am from Salt Lake City, UT. I moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2021 to attend GCU. I made the switch from a medical degree to follow a creative outlet in Interior Design. I plan to work with a design firm once I graduate.

Bianca

Bianca

I am from West Valley City, Utah but I was born in Michoacán, Mexico. I am 19 years old, and this is my 3rd semester here at SLCC. I have played soccer for most my life, but I have always had a passion for the medical field as well so the fact that I can turn both of these things into a career is my absolute dream! After SLCC I plan to go to Weber and get my masters in athletic training.

Cam

I am fascinated by everything under the sun. With interests that broad, it's tough to settle down and pick one thing, but I finally found the greatest intersection of interest and impact in biology (the field about everything under the sun). Now I'm working on an Associate of Biology; once that's done, I'll transfer to a 4-year to finish out my Bachelor's and look for research jobs. I dream of working in ecology, microbio, or both. But my true goal is to make the biggest positive impact I can, wherever that takes me. Hopefully, in my lifetime, I can just a little bit save the world.

I live in Clinton, UT and have five sons (three currently live at home). Over 20 years ago, I attended Utah State University and recently, I decided to continue my education and transferred my credits to SLCC. I will graduate in the Spring 2025 with two associate degrees: American Sign Language and ASL/English Interpreting. I am passionate about being involved in the Deaf community to learn about their culture and way of life. My goal is to become an interpreter that delivers high quality of service that the Deaf community values and deserves. After I graduate, I plan to transfer back to Utah State University and work toward my bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies.

Utah has been my home for my entire 43 years of life. I graduated with an AS pre-med degree last semester and started the nursing program here at SLCC 9 days later. I am almost finished with my first semester and I'm loving it! I am incredibly grateful for SLCC and for the nursing program. Small class sizes allow for a more personalized experience. The professors are top notch and personable, they really care and guide you through the program. It is hands-on and I believe I am gaining the knowledge and skills I need to prepare me to be an excellent nurse. Although I can't imagine enjoying attendance at any other college as much as I enjoy being here at SLCC, I am planning on attending the U of U to get my bachelors degree upon completion of the RN program. My ultimate plan is to become a NP. I'm excited to meet you all and to be part of the student mentor team!

Hillari

I was born and raised in Nevada and attended some college in Idaho where I earned an AAScience degree. Currently, I attend SLCC in pursuit of fulfilling some gen ed requirements for my bachelor's and eventually master's degrees. I have not yet decided where I hope to transfer to, to complete my degree. I have managed various companies and teams throughout my career and found a common thread that made me want to get out of bed in the morning, I thoroughly enjoy watching and supporting staff in their professional growth. I moved to work in the coaching sector. While there I determined I wanted to be doing this in academia, so here I am, earning the academic employment credentials for advising, counseling, and coaching. I look forward to serving at the academic advising support desk to develop some new skills.

I was born and raised in Utah, but my family is from Olancho, Honduras. I am currently studying at SLCC. While at SLCC, I have earned a place on the president's list. I have not attended another institution but plan to transfer to UVU once I earn my associate's degree. I like the program that I am studying because it is giving me a better understanding of why people act the way they do and how people's psychology plays a role in the criminal justice system. After my journey here at SLCC ends, I want to transfer to UVU and get my master's. Hopefully, with a better education, I can provide a better future for my beautiful two-year-old daughter.
